Summer Storm
by
Corny Held

Big dark clouds are flying around
rain starts falling on the ground
winds caress the swaying trees
they dance and sing and clap their leaves

the pubs get full and the streets deserted
and inside the folks are singing, I heard it

they go: nanananananananana...
'cause the rain is warm like the summer wind
the rain is warm in a summer storm.

The rhythm of the thunder beats
like a rocksong through the empty streets
and the wind is wailing a tune of trance
on the edges of the garden fence

in the flashlight-show of the thunderstorm
the shadow-ghosts appear and they dance along.

they go: nanananananananana...
'cause the rain is warm like the summer wind
the rain is warm in a summer storm.

In a summer storm all the world is swinging
in a summer storm every thing is singing
All of nature is rocking and the mood is good
and the rain is just warm in a summer storm
