Songs for funerals

The idea was born on the day Lady Di from Britain died in a car accident. It was a 31 August, and a special day not only in this respecet. It was Corny Held's birthday and in 1997 she got up early on the 31st to go to Bournemouth for a gig. The first thing she heard on the radio was the shocking news which she couldn't believe. What a tasteless joke that seemed to be! Then she slowly discovered it was no joke, and as the princess had been a symbol of the things in life that people admire, it was quite a shock to be shown so clearly that people kill what they love. On the way, the atmosphere hovering over Britain could be felt in the air: It was dull, depressing, and full of sorrow, and so Corny Held wrote a song about it in the car. She couln't play it that night because it was new and the band didn't know it, but you can listen to part of it: "Tommorrow may never be the same" .

Then Elton John played a quite personal song at the funeral. Later, when Linda McCartney died, Paul sang Let it be for her. Now you do not have to be rich or famous to get a chance of hearing your or your loved ones' favourites or a more personal song on request. For details contact Sounderella.
